“Nurturing Nature for Future Generations”
Asia has lost over 60% of its forests in the past 50 years, severely affecting biodiversity and the health of its people. At Mustafia Sharif Charity, we aim to reverse this damage by promoting tree plantation and environmental awareness. Our mission is to restore green spaces and safeguard the natural environment for future generations, focussing particularly on areas that have been most affected by deforestation and environmental degradation.
“Uniting for a Greener Asia”
With Asia accounting for over 50% of global CO2 emissions, collaboration is essential to address environmental challenges. We work with local NGOs, schools, and local bodies to expand the impact of our plantation projects in Pakistan and beyond. By partnering with local organisations, we are able to reach remote areas and increase reforestation efforts, contributing to reducing carbon emissions and protecting ecosystems.
“Planting Today, Protecting Tomorrow”
Pakistan faces a critical deforestation problem, with less than 5% forest cover, far below the UN’s recommended 12%. Over the last two decades, 1.5 million hectares of forest have been lost in the country. Our plantation initiatives aim to restore nature and protect communities from the damaging effects of climate change. In 2023 alone, we planted 100,000 trees across Pakistan, helping to mitigate rising temperatures, reduce pollution, and combat desertification.
“Together, We Grow Stronger.”
In Pakistan, where 70% of the population lives in rural areas, community engagement is vital for the success of our environmental projects. We empower local communities by involving them in our tree plantation activities and raising awareness on environmental conservation. So far, over many individuals have participated in our drives, gaining the knowledge and skills to maintain their environment and contribute to long-term sustainability.
“Climate Action Begins with Green Solutions”
A single mature tree can absorb up to 22 kg of CO2 each year, making our plantation activities a powerful tool in combating climate change. In Pakistan, where environmental issues are exacerbated by severe weather and deforestation, our tree planting efforts stabilise soil, reduce flood risks, and improve local climates. Each year, we aim to plant 50,000 additional trees, making a tangible difference in the fight against global warming.
“Plant a Tree, Plant a Future.”
Deforestation accounts for up to 20% of global carbon emissions, and every tree planted helps combat this global crisis. You can be part of our mission by sponsoring a tree, volunteering in our plantation drives, or partnering with us to expand these efforts. Together, we can create a future where green spaces thrive and the environment flourishes for generations to come.
